Dueling Grounds is hosting a Legacy Constructed tournament for a Mox Ruby! Entry is $20 and all participants receive a DG score pad. Deck lists must be provided. Prizes for the top 8. 1st place wins a Mox Ruby in Very Good condition. Places 2 - 8 win store credit based on attendance.
No preregistration - just show up the day of the event. Doors open at 11:00 a.m. and tournament begins at 12:00 p.m. There will be a 20 minute lunch break after round 1. We're located right BESIDE Pizza Pizza, Subway's around the corner, tons of other places within 5 min. walk.
Directions:

Parking is available on Brock Ave., the Dufferin Mall or a pay lot just north of bloor.
Here's a scan of the Mox Ruby:

Definitely one of the better ones I've seen. I value it at $360 so after 18 players it ALL goes into the prize pool for 2nd to 8th.
Please note no food is allowed in our store. Drinks are fine and we sell pop, juice and water for $1. _________________ Wayne Mittlestead

WOOOooooooo Legacy in Toronto for once!
I've been trying to play legacy for 4 or 5 months and have had a deck built all the time but haven't been able to make it out to one of the out of town legacy events. I'm really stoked for this.
The out of town events have had a lot of participation so i'm thinking this should be a big draw being in the big city, and now the new location has a ton more room (and head room) to accommodate everyone.
PS:
Is this going up on the tourney calender? i know a lot of people only look at that and not the forums. |

This sounds great! I hope to be there.
BTW, Hairy T's in North York is having a Mox Legacy tourney on Saturday (FEb. 27). You can get there by TTC if you do not have access to a car. But yeah, other than that, all the other Legacy tourneys have been out of town. |

| It would help if Hairy T's actually advertised their tourneys in any way shape or form on this site. Otherwise how are you supposed to know about them? |

+1 ^^^
So Hairy T's, North York and Oshawa are all having Legacy on Saturday and there is a PTQ in London. I am curious what the attendance will be for all these events .
Regardless, I'll have to look and see if I have to work the Easter long weekend, because if not I will be at this event |

Yes, already sent it in the same time I posted this.
I've also PM'ed every TO on this site to let them know so we don't have any scheduling conflicts. _________________ Wayne Mittlestead

Yeah, and it's also confusing that there are two Legacy tourneys on Saturday. Worlds Collide in Oshawa are holding one as well. They have been holding big Legacy tourneys for months now, and they are generally well attended (I went to one myself). It's more convenient for me to go to North York than Oshawa and Hairy T's is offering a bigger prize (Mox Emerald over a Timetwister). However, I'm guessing that Worlds Collide will have a much bigger turnout, given that they advertise on this site and hold these tourneys each month. It would suck to show up at Hairy T's and have fewer than 16 people, while Worlds Collide gets 30-plus. That makes me think that the extra drive to Oshawa is more worthwhile. At any rate, the attendence of both events will be lower than normal considering that they are occuring on the same day (not to mention the PTQ in London). Glad to see that Wayne PMed other TOs about the DG tourney in April. |

| Hairy T is wack. Their web site is an insane collection of rants and something about "Toronto Dollars" If you want to figure out say where the north location is you have to wade through bad design and usless information about why you cant use a cell phone in the store. |

HEADHUNTER ALERT! I'll be competing in our Worldwake Standard constructed Game Day March 6th. If you beat me you win a Worldwake booster!
Also have a related question: If I were to theoretically compete in this Legacy Mox event (I'm not - unless you convince me) would that be a conflict of interest? I ask because WOTC is now allowing TO's to compete in their own events. I'd have to hire a judge of course and my entry would contribute to the prize. If I won, I just saved $360 and defended my prize like the champ I am
What say yey? |

I have no issues with you playing as long as you pay the $20 entry. A level 1 judge or higher should be a must with such a fine top prize.
For the events at Phoenix, the owner, Bill, is the official TO and supplies all the prize support, I just do all the work. Phoenix is Warhammer store and MtG players just 'rent' space. |

I have no such issue either. Will you put up a bounty too? _________________
